Eight

We believe this submission should win the award for diversity and inclusion as we are a business that is owned and run by women who sincerely care about the impact their company has on the industry as much as they care about running a successful business. Pushing for change in both small and big ways is the key to our approach to diversity and inclusion. Additionally, it is essential for us to be listening to our employee’s from diverse backgrounds and implementing their ideas. Finally, it is fundamental to our business that everyone who works with us, and particularly those who face discrimination, feel safe, heard, and valued with us.

Golin

Golin Hong Kong’s DEI vision is to ensure our people understand, feel and live our DEI mindset – and beyond that, use their knowledge to help others. Through the lens of ‘Creating Change That Matters’ we created an Equitable Ecosystem strategy, one that ensures Diversity, Equity and Inclusion was integral to all operating components. We surveyed staff, committed to our cultural behaviours, reimagined hiring and pinpointed education as the crux of change, while measuring the impact of our actions. Our leaders are certified Mental Health First Aiders, while working teams are the people who really matter in defining our change work. Directly from our Hong Kong team as a hub, we expanded our footprint via all-location committees, resulting in every APAC office having its own DEI Committee. Together, our actions have been powerful: from advocating for healthy masculinity, to leveraging refugee employment, to supporting trans rights.

Mediabrands

“Mediabrands takes a human-centric, data-driven, high accountability approach to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI). DEI is treated like a core business practice. That’s what will get us to a workplace where every person has the opportunity to feel heard, seen, supported and to have value.

In the last year alone, we’ve hit some hit some critical milestones. We identified the largest representation gaps in each market, tailored relevant 3-year horizon goals and made leaders accountable for delivery. We hired 2 dedicated experts and prioritized tackling systemic biases by rolling out a comprehensive DEI course catalog and audited our people policies with a DEI lens. We’ve launched our very first Employee Resource Group and introduced inclusive policies and programs.

All these resulted in better diversity – we have gender parity in leadership; and better inclusion – employee satisfaction rates are the highest in 2 years, with increased female satisfaction being observed.”
