When AIA Singapore’s newly appointed CEO Wong Sze Keed took the helm in the middle of Singapore’s worst health and economic crisis, she made it her mission to mobilise a new People-First Mandate. On top of dealing with the toughest leadership test presented by COVID-19, Sze Keed also had to prove herself as a first-time CEO and show that she’s more than just the “first female CEO” of AIA Singapore. Sze Keed’s people-first mandate would deliver results across three fronts: minimising profit margins’ exposure to COVID-19 for AIA’s health and life insurance business, improving brand health and brand love amongst customers, and investing in a step change in Technology, Digital and Analytics that reduces business costs to deliver greater value back to customers, staff and distributors.
